Hi guys, how are you? Did you know that hypertension is one of the global mortality and morbidity risk factors? Well yes, but do not worry that here I leave you this entry with the perfect vaccine to avoid it.
That's right, regular sports can be very useful to avoid hypertension.
Let's see first what it consists of.
As we all know the heart beats propelling blood throughout the body and bringing nutrients to the organs and muscles. To measure this beat we do it through blood pressure or pulse as we normally say. We have all seen in movies to know if someone is alive they put two fingers on the neck or on the wrist. Well, what they do is check that the heart continues to beat and distribute blood, since if the blood does not circulate we cannot feed our body, nor evacuate waste.
When this blood pressure is higher than what is healthy, we say that this person is hypertensive. That is, there is a lot of pressure in the arteries, and that is not good since we can force our heart to beat harder and more times and finally cause a heart attack.

How do we know we have high blood pressure? When we go from 140/90. The first number indicates what we call systolic pressure (the high) and the other the diastolic (the low). Today in all pharmacies you can take your blood pressure or you can even buy the device to measure it at home whenever you want.
Here you have a table with hypertension values.

Now that we know a little what we want to avoid, we ask ourselves the following question, what do I do to avoid or reduce it.
The answer is simple, a balanced diet and physical exercise. Multiple studies show that when exercising physically lower blood pressure.
Of course, if you are hypertensive and want to carry out any physical activity, you should consult your doctor, as there are cases where exercise must be controlled and put yourself in the hands of a physical activity professional who will give you personalized training.
However, for those who want to avoid it, we recommend exercising 5-7 times a week for 30-60 minutes, combining aerobic exercise such as fast walking, cycling and general strength training.
Some studies recommend interval training for those who do not yet have hypertension. If you want to consult the study here I leave you the PDF
Of course we can increase the intensity of the exercises, the duration etc. but always little by little and under the supervision of a professional.
