ANAEROBIC RESISTANCE
Hello friends, in
the previous article we talked about aerobic resistance and the benefits it
has, mainly on health.
Next, in this
post we will talk about another type of resistance, anaerobic resistance.
Anaerobic
resistance is the ability of our body to carry out high intensity physical
activity, with the low presence of oxygen in relation to the necessary demand
of our muscles. This is where we differentiate between lactic and alactic anaerobic.
The main difference between this type of anaerobic resistance is the substrate
through which energy is obtained, the duration of the effort and the waste
product that we obtain, that is, whether we obtain lactic acid or not.
Graphically, we
will show the same as in the previous post so you can compare:

As we saw in the
previous post, in the test carried out with a lactatometer, we observed that up
to point 1 is our aerobic threshold. From 1 to 2 we could carry out a work
between thresholds, that is, between the aerobic and anaerobic threshold, so we
can say that there is a balance between energy demand and oxygen consumption.
Therefore, both metabolisms are involved, between point 1 and 2. However, from
point 2, the amount of lactic acid in the blood (mmol) rises
disproportionately, so the main metabolism is anaerobic. This is because the
energy requirement is higher than the oxygen supply, due to the high intensity
of the exercise. This corresponds to high pulsations (<90% HRmax) if you
wear a heart rate monitor, so we can deduce the level of suffering will be
high.
Now, we wonder if
it is so necessary to reach these "dying" percentages of maximum
heart rate. Here it is possible that there is a discrepancy, there will be
those who think if it is necessary and who does not. It is obvious that high
level athletes will need this type of training to improve their performance.
With this you will think, "oh right, this does not interest me as it is
only for people who want to improve their performance." NOT SO FAST! It is
true that to improve performance it is necessary to apply stimuli that exceed
the thresholds, but in this case, we are not only talking about performance. As
in the previous post we talked about benefits of resistance training, anaerobic
training also brings benefits for all audiences, so ... Do not miss the next
publication!
To be continued,
see you soon.
